“Jaipur” – A place for a happening weekend getaway Pink City of India – Jaipur, known for its vibrant culture and traditions, beautiful forts,  and yummilicious food. You can never get bored of this beautiful city. Every time I give this city a visit I get completely new experiences. This city never fails to amuse me. This city keeps calling me for different reasons and this time it was a long weekend.

The weather was soothing so I planned a road trip to one of the most iconic places in India, known as the ‘Pink City’ – Jaipur.

I made my bookings at Hotel Trident for a comfortable stay a day prior to my visit and started my journey the next morning from Delhi which is around 270 km. from Jaipur.
I reached the hotel at around 2 P.M. The Hotel is located at an exotic location from where you can comfortably have a look at the Jal Mahal Palace which was just opposite the hotel.

After a short nap, I planned to visit Hawa Mahal which is situated in the walled city of Jaipur. As I entered the walled city, I was amazed to see that all the buildings and houses of the city were painted pink. It was an overwhelming sight indeed.
Hawa Mahal is situated in the heart of the city and is surrounded by marketplaces hence making it a favorite tourist attraction for all. To have a look at the beautiful sunset of Jaipur, I visited Tattoo Café which is just opposite to Hawa Mahal and I was totally spellbound by the beauty of Hawa Mahal during sunset.

After half an hour, I decided to go on a shopping spree for my family and loved ones to a place called “Anokhi”. It is one of the renowned places in Jaipur for shopping for special Jaipuri print shirts, quilts, and furnishing items. Also, they have an organic café by the name of “Anokhi Café” where I ended my day with a drool-worthy dinner.
The next morning, I set out to visit Amer Fort which is surrounded by lush greenery. Here you can take an elephant ride to the fort while you enjoy the surroundings. The main attraction of this fort is the Sheesh Mahal. Also, you can enjoy the light and sound show during the late evening hours.

After the Amer Fort, I visited the Jaigarh Fort which is just above the Amer Fort. This fort has one of the world’s largest cannon on wheels named “Jaivana”
Right above the Jaigarh Fort is the Nahargarh fort from where you can have a mesmerizing view of the Pink City.

After a day full of adventures, I visited the Trove Café for my dinner, where you can enjoy some luscious food with a beautiful view of Jaipur. The place was worth enough to spend quality time with your friends and family.
The next morning, I visited the Birla Temple also known as the Laxmi Narayan temple, this beauty is located on an elevated ground at the base of Moti Dungri hill and is a must-visit for the peace of mind.

The visit to the Birla Temple was followed by Lunch at Jaipur Modern Kitchen which is a bohemian themed café. Post Lunch it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful Pink City. I had an amazing time here and for sure, I am heading back to Delhi with some golden memories of a lifetime.

Jaipur is easily connected by road, railways, and airports from the major cities of India. So next time when you plan for a short trip from Delhi NCR, you simply can’t give the ‘Pink City’ a miss. Happy Travelling!
