“I just want to live in a world of mountains, coffee, campfires, cabins, and golden trees, and run around with a camera and notebook, learning the inner workings of everything real.” – Victoria Erickson

This quote literally gives you an idea of what camping feels like. I’d rather call it – hashtag camping goals. Camping is fun and an experience away from your daily grind. But, to avoid having a boring journey, allow your creative juices to flow. There’s a long list of what all things you can do while camping. But, here I enumerate a few to help you camp like a champ!

Camping During The Day

1. Go Explore!

What could be more fun and cool than exploring the campsite – the real reason why you’re there for! Get going, the adventures are waiting for you. I’d suggest taking your pet along if you have one. It’ll be an unforgettable experience.

2. Find Happiness In The Little Things

But what kind of things? Try these with your camp partner or solo:

Enjoy the ‘me’ time

Build sandcastles

Skip stones

Play volleyball or football

Boat or kayak around

Play with a frisbee

Go fishing

Study nature

Hide and seek

Set a hammock

Listen to nature sounds

Nap

Read

Snuggle

Meditate

Exercise

Sketch or write

3. Hike

I love the picturesque mountains, waterfalls, nature trails and those forest vibes. Hiking is the only way I can unfold the unknown, in fact, anyone can!

4. Climb Over

Not just rocks, mountains or campsite trails, try climbing a tree, over those old bridges or inside the caves. To discover the unseen must be your motive. Get active, get uncomfortable and try things out.

5. Watch The Sunrise

Whatever it may take to do this, try watching the sunrise. Wake up early, schedule the activity beforehand and just do it!

6. Find Your Food

You might be carrying sufficient food items for your stay at the camp, but why not try finding your food in the areas around. If nothing major, you can at least find some berries, fruits or nuts. But just make sure you aren’t, in any way, damaging the wildlife – stay calm and mindful.

7. Gather Campfire Essentials

Believe me, it’s a fun activity to gather those campfire essentials. It’s not just about collecting firewood, leaves and other things but is a matter of all the fun and frolic that’s going to happen.

Camping At Night

1. Start A Campfire

You need light, food, warmth, and entertainment. And, there’s no substitute to genuine campfire – there’s something really special about it. Just setting and adjusting the fire can keep you happily occupied throughout the time.

2. Play Music & Start A Conversation

Once the mandatory campfire is ready, it’s time for some music, singing, dancing, storytelling and talking your heart out. It may sound clichéd but such activities never go out of fashion.

3. Try Campfire Games

Here are a few easy ones…

Two Truths and a Lie – 2 out of 3 statements are true. Catch the lie!

Truth & Dare – Pick either and do as said.

Never Have I Ever – It doesn’t even need an explanation.

Categories – Pick one category and name things under it, without any repetitions.

4. Go For A Late Night Walk

Once you are into the wild, don’t fear it. Just be a little careful and go for a hike/ walk. Carry the essentials, follow a defined path and stay calm. You’ll be enthralled by the nightlife.

5. Stargazing

Yes, it’s still one of the coolest things to do while camping. Find your spot and start contemplating.

6. Go, Swim!

This is going to be a lifetime experience. I’m telling you! If you’re near a lake, take a quick dive and get all cozy in your sleeping bag. After a thrilling day, the warmth of campfire will soothe your senses and get you adventure-ready for the next day.
